Spring in our step

Spring is here, the sun is shining, and the grass is as green as a childs painting.
And EVERYONE even the animals have a SPRING in their STEP!!

We have been enjoying the sunshine we have been blessed with lately. Some days it reaches over 20 degrees and after such a long winter it feels so good. Most days there has been a welcomed summer breeze. Cooling us down from the sun which has its biggest brightest hat on. When the weather is like this you really can't help but to be outside in it. Im forever finding excuses to avoid being indoors. My washing pile is completely gone as the washing line has been in full swing! There is something ever so pleasing about washing on a washing line. Lined up dancing in the breeze. I love it!

The pets have enjoyed the sun also. Harry Hopper has been allowed out for a couple of hours since i blocked off his entry to the underneath of the shed. ( This rabbit is as soft as clarts, He is happy to be picked up and held and he is no problem to catch in the house or in his hutch and run. However when he is free in the garden he avoids being caught because i'm sure he wants "Just five more minutes!") I was stroking him and taking photos of him in the garden today, he played happy with Zeus (our Dog) and Ember (our cat) . . . The minute i made the conscious decision to pop him back into his hutch and run he turned into a thumping racehorse, doing laps of the garden refusing to even look at his open door to his run. Eventually he went back in. And then he snoozed all afternoon.

So how is Viv?

Well she is enjoying the grass thats for sure! The grass has been thriving this last week or so and all the horses have been head down and enjoying it.

Mini human has been enjoying her riding, and is practicing hard on her position and keeping her hands still.

We both love her so much:

I have been trying to keep practicing what i learned from my last lesson. Keeping the horse in front of me and feeling for the energy between us.

LIVE . . . LOVE . . . RIDE . . .

XC Training day

So this weekend was XC training. Mini Me and I  went to watch and then both were privalaged to get the chance to ride at the end!! OMG. This weekend i have faced many demons . . . One was a crosspole. The next was a LOG!The Log led onto a few other XC fences and before i had the chance to say chomped carrots i was jumping 4 jumps about knee height hhahaha!! Im sure i will grow in confidence in time!

Mini me had a ride too, she jumpd some of the smaller fences and LOVED the water jump! Together we were supa dupa proud of ourselves!

Mix up led to adventures!

Sometimes a mix up can lead to

an unplanned jolly good adventure!!

So on Saturday we left at lunch to go Showjumping. Well not me and Mini Me as we are not really ready for jumping, but Viv's owner (sam) takes her showjumping and we tag along because we LOVE the whole atmosphere of it. From getting the horses ready to watching them strut their stuff in the ring over the fences. We also love the buzz you get if one of the horses you take gets a rosette. And even if they don't, there is still a buzz. An inspiration. They put 110% into something rosette or none, MY WORD ITS AN ACHIEVEMENT. Something I myself wish i could do. Unfortunately after a gap from riding i am just coming back into it and i'm not ready or balanced enough for jumping just yet. Me and Mini me both dream of the day we can manage our first clear round class! OMG I can just imagine the buzz we will both get from it.

So we arrived at the venue at around lunchtime giving us 1/2 hr or so for tack up and warm up. So following sam and her friend to go register in the class we were then informed . . .

 . . . THAT'S TOMORROW.
Today is BSJA.
We did wonder why the fences seemed so high?!!

HAHAHAHHA,
Can you believe it, we went on the wrong day.

Unaffiliated was Sunday not Saturday!

Ah, Ummmmm, OK. So what now? The horses all ready to strut their stuff. All groomed. A horsebox journey to a destination that was pointless. SO . . .

. . . WE CHANGED OUR PLANS.

Local to the event was a beautiful forest which is set out for walkers, mountain bikers, and horses. It is stunning!! We parked the horsebox and tacked up the horses. Sam and her friend went off on a hack and Mini Me and I played at the park, and went for a nice walk and played in the river. We even met the GRUFFALO!

The time flew over and before we knew it the girls were back.

Then it was Mini Me's time for a little short hack :)

The horses were rather smart in their SJ gear for their hack through the woods. They were rather MUDDY on their return hahahaa!! :D

But muddy horses are HAPPY HORSES :)

Mothers day at the Stables

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

What a mothers day I have had . . . .  FANTASTIC!

The kids wrote me a special little card today, it said i was entitled to a full horsey day. I didnt have to cook tea, or do the washing or tidy up. I had a flask, some coffee, milk and i was free. Well sort of, a horsey mad daughter tagged along for the ride . . .

. . . .
Tagged along for the ride
I woke this morning to two children wishing me HAPPY MOTHERS DAY from the side of the bed. They handed me their handmade Mothers day cards beaming ear to ear. OH HOW I LOVE THEM!!

I l love them so much xxxx

I also had a special voucher i opened which entitled me to a day with Viv, whilst away all chores taken care of . . . .

 . . . WHAT A PRESENT. WOW,
I couldn't have asked for anything more!!
I took full advantage of this deal . . .

Mini-horse-mad came with me. Mini-not-so-horse mad and daddy-not-so-horse mad decided to stay home and enjoy some 'gaming time' together.

Time at the stables was FUN. We started with grooming a VERY MUDDY horsie, and then we tacked up and went out for a hack. The birds sang and you could just feel spring in the air. Especially since it was warm, in comparison to the cold snap we have had. 'WE' had a hack actually means~ 'Mini-horse-mad had a hack and Mummy-horse-mad Walked, and jogged and clambered her way up hills and through mud and YEAH . . . HAPPY MOTHERS DAY :)

We had lunch and I had coffee, and then we did some tack cleaning. Viv tried on her new rug and we are glad to say it fits perfect. She looks beautiful in it. Although by tomorrow it wont look so clean hahahha.

New rug

I've had a fantastic HORSEY DAY!!

I LOVE BEING A MUM XxXxXxXx

Hello and WELCOME

Hello.

We are a family of four. Two of us horse mad, the other two dragged along for the ride. Hahahaha. They do like horses, just not quite as much as us two.

So who are we?  Well for the nature of this blog and privacy reasons lets call us ~ Mummy-horse-mad (DOB unknown hahahaha) and Mini-horse-mad (8). Mother and daughter who are as horse mad as each other.

Then we have  Daddy-not-so horse-mad (AGAIN DOB unknown) and Son-kinda-not-so-horse-mad (maybe one day might be?) 10.

Quite a description but i feel that explains us best :)

We have a Border collie named Zeus, a cat named Ember, a rabbit named Harry Hopper and we part loan a horse named Viv. We are always full of busy. But we wouldn't have it any other way!!
